Gone are the days when the kimono is just a traditional Japanese garment. Looking back, fashion brands like Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana made a few alterations.

Fashion trends will always leave us in awe, from robes to sleepwear, these statement pieces are invading everyone’s wardrobe. Here, I will show you how you can pull off the kimono trend:

The trend can be used as a cover up or it can stand alone depends on the style, with this, I opted for layering. I started from a basic white sweatshirt, paired it with skinny jeans, slip-on tassel brogues and complemented the whole look with a chambray kimono-inspired top. Layering can be tricky, but you can always start from basics and build your whole outfit from there. Other than that, proportions and right fit should be considered as well.
